Road Tax/MOT Testing - COVID-19 Update - 15/04/2020. Many of you may find yourself in the situation where both your MOT Test and Road Fund Licence are due to expire before the end of the month. Under 'normal' circumstances, this would usually mean that you would have to get your vehicle MOT tested in order to obtain your road tax. Now, under the current circumstances, this will not be the case. However, if you find yourself in the position where, for example, your MOT test is due to expire 28/04/2020 and you have received your road tax reminder through the post stating your vehicle needs taxing before the end of April, you MAY NOT be able to get your road tax YET.
If this does become the case, DON'T PANIC. With regard to our post from last week explaining how MOT due dates are being updated, you may have to wait until your vehicles' MOT expiry date has been updated - you can check this using this link: As said in the post from last week, your MOT expiry date should be updated online seven days before it is due. So, sticking with our example of the MOT being due on 28/04/2020, the expiry date will not be updated until the 21/04/2020 in most cases, and this is the earliest you'll be able to get your road tax. Once again, we hope that this information has been useful to you, we will continue to do our very best to keep you up to date with things such as this. If you require further clarification on this matter, or indeed another motoring related enquiry, please don't hesitate to get in touch - phone 01909 500733 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm), email, or message this Facebook page.
